This wasn't like these people were trying to win the lotto then lost all their money. They were smart with their investments and were told the money was safe.
Madoff (in addition to many others I'm sure) misled them, and he'll rot in cell for the rest of his life because of it. He may be smart, but he should have gotten out a long time ago. He got what he deserved even though it won't restore these people's lives.

As far as Im concerned, Where Madoff went wrong was when the economy failed. There is supposed to be greedy people in the world. Greed is necessary, It balances the "poor "and the Rich and the bigger the gap between the two, widens the possibility for those to prosper in between. Tell me if Im wrong?

The Madoff victims all deserve their financial losses. They were all lazy and greedy; they were all avoiding work - they just wanted their monies to work for them - i.e., passive income. They simply didn't want to live by the sweat of their brows. I say, good for them, they all lost their monies!! Hurrah for Madoff - he was very smart indeed!
